There are four very nicely decorated rooms with private bathroom (all with shower stalls) at Piccolo Principe B B. Each one has colorful walls and interesting furniture pieces that the owner Luana has restored or refashioned from things purchased in small markets around Rome. They all have new parquet floors recently built bathrooms TV with cable and satellite and colorful comfortable bed spreads. In the common area there are many books in a variety of languages access to a DSL internet line (or wifi) if you re traveling with a laptop and a place to serve oneself breakfast from the items provided in the kitchen. It s clear that the owner has taken great care in putting her place together.
The neighborhood called Piazza Vittorio or Esquilino is very close to Termini station and the bus and metro stops (about a 5-minute walk) while also being within walking distance of Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica (10 minutes) and the Colosseum (20 minutes). It s the city s main ethnic quarter sometimes dubbed Rome s Chinatown and there is a large neighborhood food market a few blocks away for ingredients from all over the world as well as some of the best Indian food in the city further down via Principe Amedeo at Himalaya Kashmir. |
